SALVATION
What does it mean to be saved? It means to be rescued from the power of death. Salvation is also a gift, not something you earn. When a person is saved from a disaster like fire, flood, heart attack, etc. they moved from being in a position of death to a position of life and that is what being saved is all about.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (NIV)
John 5:24 (These are the recorded words of Jesus)
"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. (NIV)
Many people will tell you that the only way you can be saved is to renounce being gay. That is very much against what the Bible says. According to the Bible there is only one requirement for being saved.
John 3:16-18
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. (NIV)
Look at the last sentence of John 3:16-18. Condemnation is the state of those who do NOT believe in Jesus Christ. This scripture also it says that WHOEVER believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life and that includes gay believers.
Anyone who wants to be saved, can be saved if they believe. We just have to make that choice to believe in Jesus.
John 6:47
I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. (NIV)
Once a person believes, Jesus promises to never drive them away. This promise is for ALL who believe, whether they are gay or not. Jesus promises that if you come to him, he will NEVER drive you away.
John 6:37-40
All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." (NIV)
What is a person supposed to believe in order to be saved?
1. Believe that everyone is a sinner including you. Romans 3:23
2. Repent: The Greek word for repent means: to change one's mind (heart) for the better. So, when you repent you are changing your mind from wanting to live your life without Jesus to living a life with Jesus as your Lord.
3. Believe the gospel in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.
Romans 10:9-10
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (NIV)

THE GOSPEL
1 Corinthians 15:3-5
"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. (NIV)

If you are ready to receive Jesus as your Lord repeat this simple prayer from your heart:
"Lord Jesus, I am a sinner and need you to forgive me for living a life without you in it. I need you. I believe that you died for my sins and were raised from the dead on the third day. Jesus, come into my heart and be the Lord of my life."

How can you know for certain that you are saved? It is because salvation comes from God by faith in Jesus. It does NOT come from anything we do. It is a gift God gives us if we believe in Jesus. Read the following scriptures.
Romans 3:21-27
21
But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished – 26 he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. 27 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith. (NIV)
Romans 5:9-11
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. (NIV)
Ephesians 1:7-8
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. (NIV)
Hebrews 9:14
How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! (NIV)
1 Peter 1:18-19
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. (NIV)
Revelation 1:5-6
and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father-- to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. (NIV)
Revelation 5:9-10
And they sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth." (NIV)
