Hello Pastor Lisa; My name is Ken. I am a heterosexual, born again man. I have no idea why I chose to write. As I read your site, something in my heart told me to. It is so very refreshing to see someone else standing up, with Scripture, to show the world that the gay lifestyle, among other things, is not despised by God as is taught in our culture today. In so many ways Satan has infiltrated God's church. No wonder we don't see revival. Christians don't read the Scriptures for themselves. I have to admit that until about 10 years ago I fell into the same trap. Though reading daily, I bought book after book in my attempts to understand the Bible. To no avail. I remained dependent upon others to interpret Scripture. Finally I ran across the NLT. (New Living Translation) With that it was like night and day. I could actually understand, without the benefit of another man's interpretation, what the bible was saying. Now I can genuinely say that I have grown to love the Bible. That has brought me to the point that I can genuinely say that I love God and my Lord Jesus Christ. All it took was the Scriptures in my own language. I.E. Not the KJV. We, in America, do not speak The Old King's English and after about 30 years of reading it, I still needed others to interpret it for me. As an attempt to show you an example of what my Bible reading consisted of, after about 30 years with the KJV, this is what I read; Blah, blah, blah, all have sinned. Blah, blah, blah, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. In other words, the only parts of the KJV I could understand were those statements that had been explained to me. With the advent of the NLT in my life and for the first time in my life, I could actually see and follow the flow of Paul's writings. It opened up a whole new world to me. Paul is a mighty writer. He starts with a simple thought and expands it out from there. His writings actually flow. I never saw that before. This whole new world of the NLT along with an elementary knowledge of New Testament Greek allowed me to independently dig so much deeper than I had ever been able to. Now I have a much more powerful working knowledge of Scripture. Thank you Jesus! My new found working knowledge of the Scripture applies to both the New and the Old Testament. I see how they flow and come together. Now I love life and I have shed nearly all the ungodly ways with which I had been indoctrinated. If only Christians would stand up and love lost people rather than hammering them. Even if they believe homosexuality is wrong, pounding a lost person will seldom, if ever, lead to salvation. And being at war with other believers sends the worst message possible. Let God deal with each person's heart. I believe we could see genuine revival in The United States. Jesus had passion without limits for the lost. It was only the religious leaders he reprimanded, and then only for leading people away from God through their false teachings. Unlike today's church, Jesus knew 100% when the religious leaders were leading people astray! If Jesus was here now I fully believe that you are one of few to whom He would say something to the effect of "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." Keep preaching in accordance with the bible. If not before, I will see you in heaven. Rather, the New Earth.
